Hello, Housework :) & I have soap suds! ...No Salt involved... We have allot of calcium (30 grains hardness) in our water and it's quite normal to use a salt based water softener. However I do not like carrying salt. Brad Morris from filterwaterdirect.com helped me out and recommended the "Hard Water Descaler Filter" that he sells. This unit does not remove the hardness but instead changes the calcium to harmless particles (Arogonite). Advantage is that Arogonite doesn't stick to the pipes, walls, etc. Sight unseen I bought this unit with dreams of not carrying salt. Installed the unit and flushed the hot water tank yesterday (so easy). Tonight I did dishes and the soap suds are my first evidence. It was $400 well spent. Apparently it will just get better as the calcium in the pipes and water heater etc breaks down as well and become clean. Ohh I also bought one for my RV travels

We recently replaced our water softener after it stopped working. We replaced it with a Hard Water Descaler Filter. It literally took longer to have the old one removed than it did to install the new one. This new system is mounted on the wall and virtually maintenance free, no huge unsightly containers, no salt to add, etc. We are very pleased with it's performance. We discovered after about a week, that I didn't have to use as much laundry detergent, and my colored clothes came out brighter and whites, whiter. I also found that my dishwasher left my glassware and silverware spot free, no need to use any rinse agent. Needless to say my sinks and faucets are also free of hard water spotting. What a wonderful product! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is needing a water softener system that is hassle free and does the job of softening your water without having to lug around those huge bags of water softer salt. Hi Brad, I would like to inform you of our experience with your products. Let me start out with the problems we were experiencing from our two wells. The one, the church (Diamond Hill Cathedral) and it's parsonage had a high level of calcium at 270. We desired to lower that level to protect new equipment we installed, including a steamer/shower and a whirlpool tube. After installing the Hard Water Descaler Filter the calcium the level dropped to 50. Thanks Brad, M. Schroeder
I had the bullet installed last Wednesday. SO far SO GOOD. I have some calcium yet but it is 95% less. I assume it will get better since my water turned awful this winter and I blame it on the hard winter we had and all the snow. I have heard lots of complaints about the same from friends. Should my water return to what it was (but still hard) a few years ago, I may not have any hardness at all. Needless to say, I am so darn happy. D. Anderson
